Upazila Parishad is a gateway of Gofargaon and a section of different offices inside.

During the reign of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Azam Shah in 1392, this area came under Muslim rule. Was the administrative governor known Alam Khan His capital was in the present day Dighirpar village. At that time there was a saint named Gafar Shah, named after him Gafargaon. In 1813, a police station was established in Gopargaon Piak Barkandh Nia on the orders of district collector Robert Midford for the first time in Mymensingh. In 1815 Magistrate started the Chowkidari tradition with the Yeh Saheb Police Station. There were 13 checkers in Gofargaon Police Station. In 1982, Gofargaon was declared as a well-established police station and it was inaugurated on 7 November by Real Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan. Upazila programs were started in 1983. First Upazila Executive Officer was Mr. Abul Kashem, and Mr. S M Murshed was the first Upazila Chairman.
